Making the investment into an orthopedic dog bed doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. There’s a range of fine budget options available, and the Milliard Premium Orthopedic Memory Foam Dog Bed is probably the best place to get the most for a lower budget but still high-quality bed.
Bed Highlights
- Dual Layer Foam: This budget dog bed comes with dual layers of foam. A 2” foam base which is topped by 2” of memory foam. It’s certainly not the best out there, but for a low price, it will still offer most of the benefits your dog may need.
- Machine Washable: These beds have an easy-to-remove cover, which you can run through the machine. Even better, the memory foam is protected from accidents since the cover is waterproof.
- Multiple Sizes: The largest size is 46” long, making this bed a suitable choice for a vast majority of dogs. If your canine is truly massive, though, you may want to look elsewhere.
- Non-slip Bottom: In order to keep the bed from sliding around on hardwood or linoleum, there’s a non-slip coating attached to the bottom of the cover. This should keep the bed in the same general area if you have a rambunctious dog, although it certainly doesn’t prevent a willful dog from moving it wherever they please.
The Best Value for Your Money
Not everyone has a lot of money to spend on the more high-end dog beds available, some of which seem like they might be more comfortable than our own beds. Luckily, Milliard recognizes this and they’ve released these awesome pad-type beds which should be able to fit into most people’s budgets.
The dual-layering of two types of foam might cause some potential buyer’s to be hesitant, but there’s no need. The two inches of high-quality foam is enough for most dogs shy of eighty pounds or so and the high-density base ensures that they’ll be able to get the maximum benefit from the material.
The benefits of memory foam are readily apparent for those of us with older dogs. The extra support provided will leave them with a much better quality of rest and provide pain relief for their aching joints.
Unfortunately, there’s really not much customization available for this line of orthopedic dog beds, apart from the size, you won’t be able to change the color or anything during your purchase.
The removable cover is tough. It’s made of 100% polyester fibers, which means it should be able to withstand somewhat rambunctious dogs. Don’t buy this bed expecting it to be tooth-proof, but it should be able to stand up to a little gentle gnawing and digging action and a non-destructive dog will be able to get years of use out of this bed.
